A day in Bucharest’s most beautiful street #ExperienceBucharest

Carol I University Foundation, Bucharest

Hey guys! Glad to finally have some time to write about my country and its capital Bucharest, the city where I live when I’m in Romania. It’s my last week here, after a month full of new experiences, events and meetings.

My favourite event here was #ExperienceBucharest, with conferences, day trips, tours, rooftop parties, lunches and even yoga sessions! It was the first edition of the event, and I can honestly say it was a success, having  attended the conference held at Radisson Blu, the rooftop party from The Museum of Romanian Records on Parfumului Street, the yoga session(my favourite part) from Ceainaria 5 and the lunch from Lulu’s Social Bistro.

Experience Bucharest was held between 12-15 May and gathered 100+ bloggers from all around the world, including Dave and Debbie from “The Planet D”, Kat von B, Los Angeles Blogger specialised in Luxury Travel and Technology, Alyssa Ramos (@mylifesatravelmovie), Kate McCulley (@adventurouskate) and so many more. The presentation of the event sounded like this:

Experience Bucharest 2017 will be the largest project promoting Bucharest tourism that has ever been done; we are inviting 100 top bloggers, vloggers, Instagrammers, Snapchatters and travel influencers around the world to experience Bucharest and connect with 100 Romanian content creators.

Wandering in Bucharest on Victoriei Street

Being inspired to discover more of Bucharest, especially since I started my travel blog, I decided to discover and wander around Bucharest one day before the event, thus getting the vibes of #ExperienceBucharest. I chose Victoriei Street (Calea Victoriei), since it’s definitely the most beautiful street of Bucharest, located central between Victoriei Square and Unirii Square, it’s filled with art galleries, luxurious hotels, museums and iconic historical buildings.

There’s plenty of fun facts about Victoriei Street, one being that Novotel Hotel replicates the façade of the Old National Theater, built in 1852 and partially destroyed in 1944, during the World War II. In the 90’s, The Accor Group builds Novotel Hotel with the symbolic entrance of the Theater.

Another iconic building is the Stirbei Palace, that nowadays holds in its beautiful gardens, one of the coolest garden-terraces of Bucharest: Eden Garden. The Palace had a controversial past, built in 1883-1885 by Barbu Stirbei, ruler of Wallachia and later overtaken by the communists.

AZUROO – Where design and style inspire

Last but not least, I want to tell you about AZUROO, a soon-to-be Romanian Online Activewear Shop. On my day-tour in Victoriei Street, I wore their exquisite leggings from ALALA, a New York brand, brought for the first time in Romania. Needless to say, I felt sexy and empowered wearing this top quality activewear, and most important: I felt like I was ready to walk for miles! Wearing them, you can feel how they work to support, compress and offer loads of comfort. You can check their activewear on social media for now: @azurooactive and in about 2 weeks, be ready to shop in Romania and Europe some of the most popular designer Activewear!

  2. What an incredible article. Even though this is my current city of residence, your photos brought my appreciation of it to a whole new level. So many new locations I now need to check out, and others I need to return to and appreciate more. I’m also interested in that active wear shop, as I’m getting back into my running. I’m just bummed I missed the marathon this past weekend.
