Press play and get the Californication mood
Throwback Thursday everyone! This day has brought me some good memories from Cali on a beautiful sunny day in Malibu. December at the beach!. Not quite your usual winter huh? Actually it was my first year without a winter and spending it in some of the places you can only see in famous movies and TV-shows (Beverly Hills and Californication ring a bell?). I have to say I was not a big fan on Los Angeles after my first visit, but after discovering more of what California has to offer.. I have to say.. It’s one of my favourite places in the world!!
We started the day going up the hills at Pepperdine University in Malibu. Gorgeous view of the ocean and it’s also the place where I spotted a deer! Just like that, randomly up the hill next to the street. I was the first one to get scared, because I actually climbed up the hill to get a view over the ocean and I wasn’t expecting to see it there. But then, while I was insisting to make friends, the deer kept distance and walked away clearly not interested:(
We later moved on to Zuma Beach, one of the most amazing beaches I have ever been to! The never-ending sandy beach and the view over the clear blue ocean made me fall in love with this place!
Fun fact: Zuma Beach was frequently used as a set for the Baywatch series!
Zuma Beach hosts several premier surfing events each year. With optimum wind conditions nearly daily in the late afternoon, Zuma draws many to kitesurfing on the northern end of Zuma Beach.
Escondido Beach(Hidden Beach) was our next stop on the way back to LA. I have to say this place is really hidden, as you have to pay attention not to miss it! The entrance that we used was like a small tunnel which led to some stairs heading down to the beach. It’s another amazing beach of Malibu, a place where you can spot a lot of multi-million dollar houses!
Here my sister and I, and of course Molly the pom stayed and watched the sunset, a perfect ending for a beautiful day! You can see below that Molly was really enjoying the experience!
Thank you for joining me on this memory path! Would love to find out more about you! Where are you right now in the world? And where would you wish to be?
