2016 Travel Journal Part 3

We are getting close to the end of the year 2016, a time that has brought many many changes, starting with the fact that I travelled to a different country for every one of the 4 months left. I get a bit nostalgic thinking about the experiences, the travel, the friends and the family… but then again I am grateful for everything because each single thing taught me a valuable lesson.

Fast forward through Luxembourg, Romania, Los Angeles and Melbourne, I realized how important is to cherish the day, get up and do something you never did before, fill your life with love and positive thoughts. I learned how easy is to lose your motivation and how important is to set habits and take care of yourself while helping others as well. Another lesson was to not be so hard on myself, because it’s true what they say: You are your worst enemy. Everything starts in your mind, and is important to feed yourself the right things, because in the end, we are here to evolve. And on that thought, let’s see the pictures from the most exciting months that I ever had.

September : Luxembourg

Spending our last month here before I left to visit my family in Romania and later Los Angeles we enjoyed several attractions in the country. That’s what is so special about Luxembourg, you are everywhere in the country in less than one hour drive. We enjoyed the Schueberfouer fair in the city, we visited a medieval fair, and we got amazed by all the vintage american cars at Rockabilly Deluxe Festival in Pétange.

October: Romania

Time passed fast and I found myself in Bucharest, visiting my family and friends. Living in Luxembourg I got used to travel every weekend to some castle, village or forest, reason why I felt I have to discover some places I always wanted to in Romania. The weekend getaway in Bucegi Mountains was just what I needed. Here I visited the The Sphinx which  is a natural rock formation in the Bucegi Natural Park, Bolboci Lake,  Cheile Tatarului, Ialomita Cave (which has a church at the entrance) and Cantacuzino Castle.

November: Los Angeles, USA

Ditching the cold and having my first year with no winter, Los Angeles got me visiting my sister and spending time on the spectacular beaches, hiking trails, scenic roads, famous neighbourhoods and so many lovely places. From Santa Monica to Venice Beach, Hollywood to Beverly Hills, Downtown to Burbank, Sunset Boulevard to Rodeo Drive. Experiences like having brunch at The Beverly Hills Hotel, hiking at Runyon Canyon, strolling the streets around Rodeo Drive, getting an Organic Boba Tea at Urth Caffe, visiting the Universal Studios for Halloween, wandering in Getty Museum and so much more, made me irremediably fall in love with Cali.

December: Melbourne, Australia

My boyfriend played the guide for me while we visited St Kilda Beach, Shrine of Remembrance, CBD, Albert Park, St. Kilda Botanic Gardens, Kings Domain, Royal Botanic Gardens and many more places. Being my first time “down under” I have to say Melbourne is great, a city filled with diversity, a city where you are just fine not having a car, a city that you don’t have to leave in order to feel connected to nature.

  1. I recommend you to visit Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia since you are on that side of the world. It is a very interesting city full of flavor. Street food will be the most amazing culinary experience you will have.

Thank you for the great article and hope you will have a 2017 at least as good as 2016.
